Moving towards one brand
Merlin Gerin & Telemecanique to become Schneider Electric
Two of our major historic brands, Merlin Gerin and Telemecanique are moving to the Schneider Electric flagship brand. With multiple objectives, this operation will be rewarding for Schneider Electric as well as our partners and customers once it is complete. Visibility for our products and services will be increased in a highly competitive market. It will also be much easier and more effective to develop packaged solutions that include products across our former brands. Finally, the simplicity of dealing with a single supplier for every element of a complex solution makes commissioning, fault-finding and problem-solving a great deal easier.
Brand migration will occur in two stages
The first stage is a change of packaging which began in August of 2008. This change only involves the visual aspect of the packaging. Other aspects remain unchanged such as the product reference number, dimensions, weights and lot sizes, and the label indicating the product information.
This stage is the replacement of the Merlin Gerin and Telemecanique brands on the products with the Schneider Electric brand. As with the changes on the packaging, the only thing that will change will be the visual aspect. The product functions, technical features, reference number, dimensions, weights, lot sizes and label indicating the product information will remain exactly the same. This will take place over a two year period starting in April of 2009.
